Perrier Jouet Champagne The Purveyor The origins of Perrier-Jouët lie in a passionate meeting between Pierre Nicolas Perrier, whose family had worked in vineyards since the 18th century, and Adèle Jouët, the daughter of a wine merchant. The couple created the House of Perrier-Jouët and, 3 years later, moved to premises on the avenue de Champagne in Épernay, which has since been nicknamed “the Champs-Élysées of Champagne”. Perrier-Jouët was an instant success and quickly found its way on to royal dining tables. The House became the official supplier to the English court in 1861, and the courts of Sweden and of Léopold 1st, King of Belgium, soon followed suit. |
