The Purveyor
John Jameson founded his whiskey distillery in Dublin in 1780. From the rich countryside of Ireland came the barley and crystal clear sweet water. Carefully distilled three times to create a natural, very smooth whiskey. All this makes Jameson one of the easiest drinking and most mixable whiskeys. Very good with ice and dash of ginger ale.

The legend of The Bailie Nicol Jarvie and The Red Hot Poker is immortalised in the pages of Sir Walter Scotts epic Rob Roy. This finest of blended whiskies was born in honour of his most noble character and has been the choice of officers and gentlemen since its rise to fame amongst the British military during the Boer War. The BNJ boasts of having the highest malt content of any blended Scotch whisky. A whisky of breeding, maturity and quality beyond question. Pure and mellow, possessing a softness and delicacy of flavour. Interestingly apparently suitable for all climates and humours!

The Heritage of Ballantine's can be traced back to the year 1827, when farmer's son, George Ballantine, set up a grocery shop in Edinburgh. From there he began to supply a select range of whiskies to a distinguished clientele. Two important awards followed fairly quickly after: in 1895, Queen Victoria awarded George Ballantine & Son with the Royal Warrant, the ultimate endorsement of the companyís prestigious reputation and in 1910, the company received the Grant of Heraldic Arms, recognising the company as an incorporation noble on the noblesse of Scotland. The Ballantine's blend contains malts from the 4 corners of Scotland, Speyside, Highlands, Islay and the Lowlands.

In 1999 the first release of Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey heralded a major advance in the quality of bourbon crafted at the distillery.

The Tormore distillery produces a perfect malt for the contemporary taste. The spirit quality is enhanced by the copper purifiers on all eight stills, giving a subtle smoothness and balance to the whisky. A deliciously smooth malt of character and complexity. Tormore Distillery is the pearl of Speyside. The name reflects its brilliant appearance and honours the freshwater pearl mussels flourishing in the pure clean waters of the River Spey.

Wild Turkey 8 Year Old, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Distilled by the Austin, Nicholls Distilling Company, Kentucky, USA. A richer tasting bourbon due to extra ageing. Aptly named after a turkey shoot the original distiller went on with friends, bringing along with him some of his recent brew. The next year his friends asked him to bring some of his "Wild Turkey" with him, and so a legend was born.

Monkey shoulder, is a an affliction that was common in distillery workers. Caused by the hard work in making whisky from turning malt to lugging barrels. Aptly named, out of respect for the often forgotten workers who pioneered whisky making. Naturally today Health and Safety measures have cured this affliction. Expertly blended fine malts from Kininvie, Glenfiddich and Balvenie. Aged in Bourbon casks. This is a contemporary blended malt, with rich and easy drinking style.

Makers Mark

The Purveyor
Maker's Mark is America's only handmade bourbon whiskey - never mass produced. Each individual batch is less than 19 barrels, and this small quantity means they can be choosy about everything they use and everything they do to craft their whiskey. That's why they still use the old-style sour-mash method. They start each new batch by using a little of the last. The result is a far more consistent product.

The Purveyor
At Strathisla, the oldest distillery in the highlands, they have been distilling fine malt whisky since 1786. Little has changed over the centuries; this is still a craft, not an industry, and the fact shows in the quality of the whisky itself. Fresh water from the spring, lightly peated barley, are the only ingredients. Strathisla has been described by an expert as very smooth, long, and soothing.
